Wednesday September 24th, 2008 00:00 Stratosphere Vegas: Stay at the Most Famous Landmark in Town

stratosphere vegas With all the excitement of seeing the views and riding the rollercoasters at the top of the Stratosphere Vegas tower, people often forget that they can also stay in the Stratosphere Casino Hotel.

The Stratosphere is positioned right at the top end of the strip, so it’s not in the hub of the main Strip activity, which accounts for the favorable rates you can enjoy there. But, don’t think you are going to be left out of the excitement of Vegas; the Stratosphere is ideally situated to be within easy reach of both the main Strip and downtown Vegas. From your base at the Stratosphere Vegas you can enjoy the best of the old and new Sin City. Experience the glitz and glamour of newer casinos such as the Venetian, MGM Grand and Caesar’s Palace, or take a walk through the old town and see the Golden Nugget, Lady Luck and the Fremont Hotel.

Transport is excellent from the Stratosphere too, with the Monorail starting at the nearby Sahara casino and buses running regularly along the Strip. During the day both the main Strip and Downtown Vegas are a short walk away (although it’s not recommended to walk around the area at night).

You could stay at the Stratosphere Vegas and never even leave its walls. The Stratosphere Tower Casino and Hotel has everything a Vegas visitor could ask for. As well as the famous tower, offering the best views of Vegas and the most exiting thrill rides in town, the casino offers all the gambling choices you would expect in Las Vegas in 80,000 square feet of tables and slots, as well as a poker room with daily tournaments.

For eats there are a variety of cafes and restaurants to choose from: Fellini’s Ristorante Italiano, Hamada Asian Village, and Roxy’s diner, to name but a few. Plus, there’s the Top of the World restaurant where you can enjoy a delicious meal with the best views in the city as you revolve a full 360 degrees at 800 feet above the ground (voted “Best Gourmet Room” by a reader poll in the Las Vegas Review-Journal).

Entertainment is taken care of in the Theater of the Stars as well as a number of clubs, bars, and lounges offering live music, the American Superstars show, and two risqué revue shows. Or you can relax next to one of the two swimming pools, workout in the indoor or outdoor fitness centers, get pampered in the Roni Josef Spa and Salon or shop in the mall.

The Stratosphere Vegas has everything a visitor to Las Vegas could want. They offer great value to all their visitors and make sure they continue to compete with the hotels on the main strip through regular renovations and excellent prices. Not to mention they have the benefit of being a part of the most famous landmark in town.

Check out this video of the Big Shot ride at the top of the Stratosphere Vegas. There’s a bit of a wait for the ride to start but it’s worth waiting for. And the video of the view around the tower is lovely.

Friday September 19th, 2008 00:00 is the stratosphere hotel in las vegas at the top or the bottom?

is it where the resturant is or is it at the bottom or on the side (ground level) of the stratosphere?

The “Top of the World” restaurant is 900ft up. The hotel does not quite reach that height.

Monday September 15th, 2008 00:00 Stratosphere or Four Queens in Vegas?

Anyone who has stayed at both Four Queens and the Stratosphere in Las Vegas, please compare the two for me. I am going out there in August and am trying to decide where to stay. The price is the same for both. I have been to Vegas 25 or so times so I don't need to compare the areas they are in as I am very familiary with both locations, just the hotels themselves as I have never stayed at the Four Queens, but I have stayed at the Stratosphere. Thanks in advance for the answers.

Personally, I think the Stratosphere is in a terrible location, and I was told by many people that the rooms are totally non-descript. I would stay at the Four Queens.

You may not realize it, but there is a bus stop right between the Four Queens and the Golden Nugget. You can get to mid-strip in about the same amount of time (20 minutes) it takes to ride the Deuce from the Stratosphere to Fahion Valley.

DOWNTOWN TO STRIP
If you are going from downtown to the strip catch the bus on Casino Center Blvd. just south of Golden Nugget porte cochere (walk between the Golden Nugget and the Four Queens). This bus stop is the same one used by the shuttle to Premium Outlet Mall. This leg is probably the MOST EFFECTIVE one to use the bus on. All the tourists get on the Deuce at one single stop at Las Vegas Blvd & Fremont three blocks away while the #116 bus leaves half empty. Route #116 could save you 45 minutes of waiting in line for the Deuce . As of this writing the evening buses leave at 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 1:00 from the transit center.

STRIP TO DOWNTOWN
On the way from the strip to downtown, board the bus on Sands Blvd on the north side of the street by the Nieman Marcus (across from Treasure Island). Get off the bus when you can see casinos on 4th and Fremont Street. Deuce riders disembark at the same place.

Sunday September 7th, 2008 00:00 Im booking a trip to las vegas should I stay at the Stratosphere Tower Hotel?

i have never been to vegas before so i can't compare one hotel from another and im sure the stratosphere is nice but I would like to know more about the crime there. in other words where is the safest place to stay. I want to be able to walk around doing some sight seeing and not worry.

The Stratosphere is a very nice 3 star hotel. If you want a slight upgrade go with the Premier Tower, but the World Tower rooms are just fine.

http://www.stratospherehotel.com

The Stratosphere is the best value hotel on the strip. Some don't like the location, at the North end of the strip. Of course you're not going to walk to every other hotel/casino on the strip. Then again the strip is 4 miles long, you can't walk "conveniently" from ANY hotel on the strip to all of the others.

The Deuce stops right in front of the Stratosphere, it's $5 for a 24 hour pass. You can ride up and down the strip all you want or it takes just a few minutes to ride downtown(where all of the good eats and gambling are)

The 24 hr Deuce pass is also good on any CAT bus so you can actually go anywhere in the valley with your pass..

For all LV trasportaion options, including the free hotel shuttles, check out this site.

http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/transportation.cfm

For the free hotel shuttles click on >free hotel shuttles >the hotel group you're interested in >then click LV Map "click here" >for all of the hotel shuttle info including pickup locations & times.

The only other 3 star hotel in LV that's "generally" as good a deal as the Stratosphere is the Orleans
http://www.orleanscasino.com >It's one mile West of the Strip on Tropicana, but they have a free shuttle to the center of the strip & over to the Gold Coast which is right next door to the Palms & Rio.

Thursday September 4th, 2008 00:00 Has anyone stayed at the Las Vegas Stratosphere hotel in the past few months?

The rates are cheap and I wanted to make sure it was not going to be a dump. Let me know your reviews before I book!
Thanks

NEVER stay at the stratosphere!! While building the final top part, there was a fire. There isn't a hose in the valley long enough to reach the top. They had to let it burn until other means were untilized. It took 2 hours for a helicopter to come and dump water on it. A couple years ago, there was a mild fire. The fire department reported only about 25% of the sprinklers inside the building properly worked.
Kinda scary!
