coasters and such?
I've been looking into different hotels in Las Vegas, where I'm planning a trip, and all these different hotels look fun and offer different things. So I was wondering if I stayed at one hotel, could I still go to the other hotels and pay for the rides and such, like at the top of the stratosphere? Or do I have to stay there and be a customer? Also, if you happen to know the going rates for the rides that would be great. Thanks!
You can do any of those activities without being a guest. Even the hotel guests have to pay for those rides.
At the Stratosphere, you pay $13.95 to go up the tower ($10 if a guest). With one ride the cost is $19.95, with 2 rides it is $23.95, and with all 3 rides it is $27.95. You can do an all-day ride package for $33.95.
A single ride on the Speed coaster at Sahara is $10 and an all-day pass is $21.95
A single ride on the Manhattan Express at NYNY is $12.50, an additional ride is $6, and an all-day pass is $25.
The Adventuredome at Circus Circus is $24.95 for an all-day pass; otherwise you pay $4-7 for each ride.

A penetrating look at Bob Stupak, controversial casino owner and builder of the Stratosphere Tower, the tallest structure west of the Mississippi. Between his early years as the son of a notorious gambling operator in Pittsburgh and the grand opening of the Stratosphere, Stupak raced motorcycles, hustled coupons, gambled for high stakes, and battled the mob while he ran the infamous Vegas World casino.
If you're cheap like me, and obviously you are if you're frugal enough to be staying at the Stratosphere.
It will cost you $1.25 to take the CAT bus #108 Paradise from McCarran to the Stratosphere. It's 25 minutes by bus from the AP to the Strat.
At McCarran go to "Ground Level Transportation 0" to catch the bus. You could take the #109 Maryland Pkwy South bus to the SSTT and transfer to the Deuce(strip bus) but this way would cost you $3($2.50 for a 24hr CAT pass plus .50c for the transfer to the Deuce)

It's 4.95 miles from McCarran to the Stratosphere

Of course if you would rather, you could stand in the taxi line for an hour(or more) then pay $15-$20.

The Stratosphere Vegas is the most prominent landmark in Sin City and can be seen from miles around. Thrill seekers flock to the tower to take rides at the top. This is Insanity, which hangs riders over the edge allowing them to experience the full effect of being nearly 900 feet from the tarmac below!

On my last trip to Sin City, one of the highlights of the visit was supposed to be enjoying the rides at the top of the Stratosphere Vegas.
Part of my trip to Vegas was to see my friend get married and she and her parents are thrill ride fanatics. I’ve always loved a good rollercoaster so I initially agreed to join them on Insanity and X-Scream. Of course, when I saw how high the Stratosphere Vegas was close up (the photos don’t do it justice) I started to regret my decision. Thankfully, the only evening they had free to go up the Tower, I was watching Phantom of the Opera at the Venetian with my sister.
Later in the week, on our own visit to Stratosphere I was quick to chicken out – I got butterflies just watching – and without my friend there to egg me on I didn’t even come close to buying that ticket. Instead I enjoyed watching everyone else freaking out on the rides and taking lots of video and photos. I also enjoyed simply being at the top of the Stratosphere and taking in the amazing views.
Part of me wishes I’d had the courage to try at least one of the rides on top of the Stratosphere Vegas but I know I will be visiting again and who knows? I may just pluck up the courage to take the plunge (not literally, I hope).
